I am very sorry to hear what has happened to your cat. If he has skin allergy it is probably caused by pet food since pet food contains ingredients like carbohydrate that cats are not meant to be fed and it shows up as chonic ear problems, skin problems etc. A lack of fat in the diet also causes skin problems but pet food does not contain the amount of animal fat a cat needs. You might like to read the new book by Michael Fox MRCVS "Not fit for a Dog" which is all about the illness pet food is causing and has an excellent foreword by Richard Allport MRCVS. 30966
