Wanted to ask if anyone had been diagnosed or has the symptoms of M.E. also
known as chronic fatigue syndrome, since an mrsa sepsis infection? I
contracted mrsa which got into my blood stream (2008) and I haven't been right
since. Just been diagnosed with ME and I believe the mrsa infection caused this.

Hey there

I am really happy to have found this site, sometimes it is just good to talk to someone who actually knows what your going through (and not just saying it). I have just recently been diagnosed with ME, after almost 2 years of suffering. I went to soo many different doctors and specialist, and at the end I stopped, cos i thought if I had to come across another person that tells me its all in my head, or just to take a stonger dose of painkillers, that I am going to strangle them.

So before I was diagnosed, a doctor actually told me after a bunch of bloodtests, that I am perfectly healthy, but that its just my condition that is bad, and that I need to excercise more. Almost in tears, I explained to him that I used to be a hardcore athlete, and a professional dancer, and now I cant to any of those without forcing myself and then pay for it afterwards (spending days in bed), or just fainting right there on the spot. And this severe and constant migraines and back pai... read more

Hey all.Thought i'd start a thread where people list the the things that have helped make them feel a bit better, even if only while.Want to see if there is any sort of pattern that emerges. For me it would be the following(some may be obvious)-

Resting- watching tv or just laying in bed.
Mild weather.
Neck and shoulder massage.
Ibuprofen-not sure why,but it does help a little.

Thats all i can think of really.Look forward to seeing what replies this brings.

Bye for now.

ME & CRP magnets (Bioflow)

I used to have cronic wrist/arm ache/pain after it was broken. I also had migraines. A friend suggested trying a Bioflow wrist band (looks a bit like a watch or bracelet). They work through the blood system and help with many and varied problems and mine went as I wore the Bioflow.
I recommended it to someone I worked with, as, after he had many stress problems, he ended up with ME and was not able to work or even function properly after about 10.00 in the morning - even finding it almost impossible to lift a cup with a drink in it. As a scientist he was very sceptical and I asked him if he wanted to continue feeling like that or was it worth giving it a go, as he would only lose the cost of a few prescriptions. Also, if it worked, he could start living again.
Within 3-4 weeks of getting a Bioflow he was back at work part time and within another 3-4 weeks he was back full time.
It may not work as dramatically with any of you but ask yourselves - IS IT WORTH TRYING?

Whilst doing some research I came up with the alarming report that ME/CFS shortens life expectancy by 20-25 years....as I'm approaching 50 this is VERY worrying indeed and I was wondering whether anyone else had read this or what they thought?

Buy Resveratrol

Resveratrol is found in the skin of red grapes and as a constituent of red wine, and this protective compound has also been found in other plants Human cell culture studies have demonstrated that resveratrol has potent antioxidant activity, as well as the ability to inhibit platelet aggregation. When resveratrol, a chemical found in red wine, was given to mice in a recent study, it countered some effects of a high-calorie diet, improving the health of the mice and increasing their life spans. Resveratrol could not reverse all the consequences of overeating, since the mice did not lose any weight but did show decreased glucose levels in addition to healthier heart and liver tissue. Also, the mice fed resveratrol had better motor control and function compared to the mice not fed resveratrol. However, the study's authors said that their findings could help obese humans in the future.

ME and Co Codamol
Reply #22 by Victoria Posted: June 10, 2008 at 15:09
My friend has ME (well at least we think she has) She had it when she was younger(15years) and it has come back(29years). She has been ill for 18 months and i have spent hours and hours researching about ME.
There is something that is worrying me. My friend is taking co codamol and has been throughout her illness and i think she may have got a slight addiction to them. Has anyone reasearched co codamol addiction. The symptons are almost the same as ME, which is bizarre because it appears that a drug being used to help ME sufferes, has (if addicted) the same symptons as ME.
Does anyone understand what i am trying to get at here??
I really need help i love my friend very much x.

Hawthorn Berries have been used for heart and circulatory problems for generations. Hawthorn extract is commonly used as aroma therapy and is known for its benefits on the circulatory system. Hawthorn is perhaps best known for its use in cardiovascular conditions. Hawthorn is antispasmodic, cardiac, and sedative. Hawthorn is said to normalize blood pressure by regulating heart beat, and will lower the blood pressure. Heart muscle weakened by age will be greatly benefited by Hawthorn, and it is helpful in arteriosclerosis, and with nervous heart problems. Hawthorn Berries are effective in relieving restlessness and insomnia and tension.

Stamina-Rx (Stamina Rx) is a revolutionary sexual stimulant engineered to increase sexual stamina and arousal. Unlike the competition, HI-TECH uses only the highest grade extracts and nutriceuticals available. Stamina-Rx (Stamina Rx) uses TWO proprietary components not found anywhere else in America, which are: 1. Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa: It induces smooth muscle relaxation, allowing for maximum arterial dilation and increased bloodflow. 2. Cnidium Monnier: It increases nitric oxide release and inhibits PDE-5, allowing erections to be sustained for longer periods of time.

I have several existing health problems, namely arthritus, palpatations, gout, hypertension, headaches amongst others. I have been forced to give up work due to my constantly being ill and therefore unable to commit to a job. My gp advised for along time for me to stop working before i took his advise as all i could do was go to work and sleep due to being exhausted after it. I had no life so agreed, and have no wored now for 2 years. I have always thought that my individual health problems had a domino effect, ie, my blood pressure rises, my heart beats too quickley, i sometimes pass out, and am exhausted after it all but am now wondering if the exhaustion is do to me. I have not yet discussed it with my gp because im sure he is fed up to the back teeth of me seeing him and only go when absolutly necessary as it is. There have been many times when i should have been hospitalised due to dangerously high blood pressure and stroke like symptons but because i have already been in a... read more

Like lots of other people I have ME. After being ill for 3 and a half years with remission and relapse I have finally been diagnosed. I am prescribed codydramol for pain, gabapentin for weird sensations in my legs and nortryptiline to help me sleep. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. At present I am on high doses as I am in the middle of a relapse. Like a lot of people I have been subjected to a lot of tests that came back negative. My GP has only just recognised that I have ME after I asked if it was a possibility. He has been reading up on some new research about this vile conition possibly being caused by a retrovirus which is thought to be spread by mice!! I asked if there is a test that I could have for the virus and was told no, this may be possible in the future. If this virus was found during the research why can't I have a test?? However on a brighter note, during discussion with my GP I pointed out that the HIV virus is a retrovirus and there is treatment... read more

I'm Debbie, I've suffered from CFS and Fibromyalgia for five years now and it has got to the stage where I almost constantly need a wheelchair.

I was a fun loving, party attending, social events organiser professional. I was a teacher with many years experience teaching Religion and Philosophy and had many friends and a great social life. Then I got ill. Then I lost my job. Then I lost my friends. Sounds familiar? That seems to be a common story for people who suddenly find themselves with a disability or debilitating illness.

It's very difficult to adjust to not being able to walk much anymore or do the things you used to be able to do. I'm still the same intelligent, vibrant person but I find I can't remember things, i suddenly can't spell, I can't read books (I have a library room with many hundreds of books, I love reading, it has been a devastating loss), I mix words up, I can't follow conversations. I prided myself on my achievments and intelligence. I have excellent qua... read more
