Taking off the frame??

What's the process like to take off the frame and do you recommend going under? What's the first month like after the frame is off? In my case, it's been on 3 months, pulled the lowest pin out last week (cause it broke) and it wasn't bad to pull that one out without anesthetic. But it was one of the wires that goes all the way through and it wasn't one that has the plug on it. 856

Hello Ron. I had also two pins removed without anesthetic. I can't say it was painless but rest of the frame was removed with full anesthetic. When I wake up I did not even saw my leg cause big cast was already applied. After 1st cast I had two more. My frame was removed around May and final cast removed about July. I stop using crutches around October. It was great feeling but very strange also after all this time. Anything that touched my leg make me jump. Frame always kept my trousers or even blanket few cm out of my skin so my skin was very sensitive after all this time. My frame waight around 3 kg, so my leg with out the frame was very light. hi ron well if you have the choice i would say let them put you out ...but in russia they do it without anything as for the half pins man that would hurt like hell as they unscrew them ..i had 12 opperation under epidural so i was wide awake through all of them was very interesting to watch ..when they removed my second frame (lizzy) after 18 months my leg broke again on the way home in the car ..thatwas interesting i can tell you .. 875
