saying hello

Hi All,
I'm writing to say hi as my surgery is scheduled for tomorrow (!) 12/22. I'll soon have
TSF attached to my right lower leg. I had tib/fib fracture in a fall 1 year ago - it was
treated with a cast at the time, but healed crooked. Not looking forward to months of
pain & metal...

Any tips for someone wearing a TSF during winter months with low humidity/dry skin
etc? Good luck all and Happy Holidays.

Hi Jon Hope you got through your op ok and adjusting to life with your new acessory. Have you nicknamed it yet. I call my Llizarov the rabbinator lol long story. Dry skin is a nusiance but a good old dollop of e45 cream works wonders just remember to keep it clear from pin sites last thing you need is an infection. Keeping your leg warm is a must get a hot water bottle i swear by mine. Keeping you leg covered is also wise. Even while sitting and relaxing having a rug over your legs is a great help too. You have been through the mill by the sound of it i wish you a speedy recovery. It will be tough first couple of weeks but you will get through it. The boredom is the hardest, I felt like i was loosing my mind all i could concentrate on was the frame everything evolved around it the similest of acts seemed like a mountain to climb. But now im more my cheerful self even after wearing the bugger for 16weeks now. Though saying that the first lot of weeks i was so ratty and crying all the time it was hard but there is light at the end of tunnel. I find taking the piss out of myself helps humour really does work.
Good luck for the future Jon im sure you'll be back to normal in no time. Let us know how your progressing too.

xxxxBev
